Hunter Tiling Ltd
1.1 These terms and conditions apply to all domestic and commercial tiling services provided by Hunter Tiling Ltd ("The Company"). 1.2 By accepting a quotation or issuing a Purchase Order, the Client ("The Customer") agrees to be bound by these terms.
2.1 All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. 2.2 Quotations are based on a visual inspection of the site. If, upon removal of existing coverings or commencement of works, unforeseen issues are discovered (e.g., blown plaster, structural damp, or uneven floors), the Company reserves the right to issue a Variation Order for additional costs. 2.3 Any changes to the tile specification (e.g., switching from ceramic to natural stone or mosaic) will require a revised price.
3.1 In accordance with BS 5385-1:2018, all surfaces must be provided to the Company in a "ready-to-tile" condition (level, plumb, and dry). 3.2 Unless explicitly included in the quote, the Company is not responsible for the structural integrity of the substrate or for extensive levelling/screeding work. 3.3 Tanking (Waterproofing): In line with current British Standards, the Company will install tanking systems in "Wet Zones" as specified in the quotation. If the Customer refuses recommended tanking, the Company will not be held liable for future water damage.
4.1 Where tiles are supplied by the Customer, it is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure sufficient quantities (including a 10–15% wastage allowance) are on-site before work begins. Delivery of tiles hould be at least 48 hours before the agreed start date. 4.2 The Company is not liable for shade variations, "crazing," or defects inherent in natural stone or handmade ceramic tiles. 4.3 Hunter Tiling Ltd uses trade-grade flexible adhesives and grouts. If the Customer requests specific brands not stocked by our usual suppliers, additional costs may apply.
5.1 The Customer must provide clear access to the work area, along with 110v/240v power and clean running water. 5.2 For commercial projects, the Main Contractor must ensure the building is watertight and at a minimum temperature of 5°C for correct adhesive curing. 5.3 Protection of Works: While we take every care, the protection of finished tiling from other trades following our departure is the responsibility of the Customer/Main Contractor unless agreed prior and priced for.
6.1 Domestic: A deposit of 30 %] may be required to secure the start date and cover outlay for materials. Final payment is due immediately upon completion and handover. 6.2 Commercial: Payment terms are 30 days from date of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing. 6.3 The Company reserves the right to charge interest on late payments at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate. 6.4 Tiles and materials remain the legal property of Hunter Tiling Ltd until the invoice is paid in full.
7.1 Cancellations need to be made in writing (email to projects@huntertiling.com) Notice of cancellation or delay less than 7 days before the scheduled start date may be subject to a "Short Notice" fee to cover lost labour time. The Fee is £250 per installer per day delay, with 2 installers usually allocation to projects unless stated in your quote. This fee can be deducted from any Materials and date deposit you have paid. We will always work with clients facing delays and only apply this fee is we cannot move to another project and suffer loss of earnings.
8.1 Hunter Tiling Ltd maintains full Public and Employer's Liability Insurance. 8.2 The Company is not liable for "settlement cracks" caused by structural movement of the building or the drying out of new-build timber frames.
9.1 Hunter Tiling Ltd cover Essex, Hertfordshire and East London. We will also look at projects overseas subject to additional terms to cover travel, and accomodation. Areas covered primarily are : Loughton, Buckhurst Hill, Waltham Abbey, Upshire, Epping, Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford, Dunmow, Ongar, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Witham, Ingatestone, Takeley, Braintree, Rayne, Danbury, Finchingfield, North Weald, Hatfield Heath, Upshire, Cuffley, Goffs Oak, Crews Hill, Northaw, Potters Bar, Brookmans Park, Ware, Much Hadham, Hertford and Hertfordingbury, Wanstead, Walthamstow, Chigwell, Chingford, Waltham Cross and surrounding areas.
